YB Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan telah melawat Pusat Serantau Asia Tenggara Bagi Mencegah Keganasan (SEARCCT) di Kuala Lumpur pada 21 Mac 2024. Ini adalah lawatan pertama sejak beliau dilantik sebagai Menteri Luar Negeri pada 12 Disember 2023.
Ketibaan YB Menteri Luar Negeri telah disambut oleh YBhg. Dato’ Ganeson Sivagurunathan, Ketua Pengarah SEARCCT bersama dengan seluruh warga SEARCCT. Satu taklimat oleh pihak Pengurusan Tertinggi SEARCCT telah disampaikan kepada YB Menteri Luar Negeri bagi memperkenalkan fungsi-fungsi Jabatan serta menerangkan program-program dan aktiviti-aktiviti teras yang dianjurkan.
Ia adalah diharapkan bahawa keprihatinan YB Menteri Luar Negeri untuk memperluas penglibatan SEARCCT dalam subjek mencegah dan menentang ekstremisme ganas (PCVE) dan keganasan dapat mempertingkatkan keterlihatan Jabatan ini di peringkat kebangsaan, serantau dan global.

The Honourable Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan visited the Southeast Asia Regional Centre for Counter-Terrorism (SEARCCT) in Kuala Lumpur on 21 March 2024. This visit is the Honourable’s first since his appointment as the Minister of Foreign Affairs on 12 December 2023.
The arrival of the Honourable Foreign Minister was warmly received by Dato’ Ganeson Sivagurunathan, Director General of SEARCCT together with the Department’s staff. The former was briefed by SEARCCT’s top management and was introduced to the functions as well as the core programmes and activities conducted by the Department.
It is hoped that the attentiveness and interest shown by the Honourable Foreign Minister to extend SEARCCT’s reach in the fields of preventing and countering violent extremism (PCVE) and terrorism would increase the Department’s visibility not only nationwide, but also regionally and globally.
