On 20 November 2024, SEARCCT, in collaboration with the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSK) at Universiti Malaysia Sabah, successfully hosted the University Lecture Series (ULS) to deepen understanding of emerging security challenges, particularly those related to terrorism and violent extremism.
The event featured two thought-provoking lectures: “Exploitation of Gaming Spaces by Extremists” by Ms. Nurul Hidayah Mohd Noar and “The Misuse of AI by Terrorist Groups” by Mr. Muhammad Afiq Ismaizam. Approximately 300 students actively participated, engaging enthusiastically in the interactive Q&A session.
Officiated by Prof. Dr. Asmady Idris, Dean of FSSK, the ULS reaffirmed SEARCCT’s commitment to educating and empowering future leaders to confront and counter the evolving threats posed by extremism.
