SEARCCT PUBLIC LECTURE : PETRONAS

On June 27, 2024, SEARCCT was invited by Group Security Petronas to deliver a webinar titled “Online Gaming Extremism: Play or Be Played?” The session was attended by approximately 150 Petronas staff members. Mr. Kennimrod Sariburaja, Director of Research and Publications, discussed the terrorism landscape and counter-terrorism efforts in Malaysia while, Ms. Nurul Hidayah Mohd Noar, Research Officer at SEARCCT, highlighted the emerging trend of extremists exploiting gaming spaces. The webinar aimed to raise awareness about terrorism-related issues, particularly in cyberspace, and to educate communities on how they can contribute to keeping these spaces safe.
