SEARCCT has collaborated with the Embassy of Iraq to conduct a webinar entitled “Methods of Combating Terrorism” via online platform. This webinar was held on 8 June 2021 with the aims of providing exposure and understanding of terrorism issues in Iraq. The webinar was attended by eight (8) SEARCCT officers.
The speaker was a representative from the Iraqi National Intelligence Service and was assisted by two (2) translators. The presentation began with an introduction of the Daesh group existences and the explanation of the Salafi Jihadi concept abused by the Daish terrorist group.
In addition, the speaker explained current terrorism issues in Iraq and the causes that motivate a person to get involved with a terrorist group. The speakers also shared on some of the best practices in dealing and monitoring terrorist activities. Participants were also given an in-depth presentation on Daesh groups and its propaganda.
