SEARCCT has organised three sessions of Collaborators’ Meeting, particularly with the local agencies, Civil Society Organisations (CSO) and foreign collaborators. The meetings were held at InterContinental Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on 8 & 12 November 2021. The meeting is an annual event that aims to strengthen existing collaborations with local and foreign entities, as well as to identify and establish potential areas of cooperation with new partners.
The meeting was held in a hybrid concept, physical and virtually. A total of 58 officials from local agencies and 40 officials from Civil Society Organizations attended the Local Collaborators session on the 8th November 2021. Meanwhile, a total of 39 officials from embassies, high commission and international organization attended the Foreign Collaborators meeting on 12th November 2021.
The meeting began with a presentation by each division i.e. Planning and Training Division, Research and Publication Division and Digital Strategic and Communication Division followed by a brainstorming session.
The discussions evolved around areas on improving several modules in SEARCCT’s existing programmes namely, Countering Violent Extremism (CVE), Counter Narratives, Maritime Security, Rehabilitation, Terrorism Financing, Unmanned Ariel Vehicle (UAV), and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives (CBRNe). During the discussion, all division presented their programmers priority for year 2022. The meeting registered great interest of local and foreign agencies to further enhance their collaborations with SEARCCT. Further discussions with relevant agencies will be conducted to iron out the details.
Planning and Training Divisions Department will assess the request and will plan to fulfil it in 2022.
