On 26 October 2024, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) and Jabatan
Perpaduan Negara dan Integrasi Nasional (JPNIN) Negeri Sembilan hosted “Chit
Chat Belia: Peranan Belia Kita” at USIM — a vibrant forum designed to empower
Malaysian youth to actively foster national unity through the celebration of diversity. This event encouraged young leaders to explore strategies for promoting social harmony and embracing Malaysia’s multicultural heritage, inspiring them to become champions of unity across communities.
The forum featured an impressive array of speakers, including Mr. Kennimrod Sariburaja, Director of the Research and Publications Division, SEARCCT; Mr. Jeremiah Lucas Jugo anak David from Yayasan Sukarelawan Siswa and IPGM Kampus Raja Melewar; and Prof. Madya Dr. Mohd Rushdan Bin Mohd Jailani, Senior Lecturer at USIM’s Faculty of Leadership and Management. Moderated by Syed Haddad bin Syed Ismail, Deputy Secretary General of USIM’s Student Affairs
Department, the discussion delved into how youth can contribute to a armonious,
inclusive Malaysia.
The forum underscored Malaysia’s diversity as a powerful national asset, stressing
the pivotal role of youth in sustaining and advancing this legacy of unity. By
embracing these values, participants committed themselves to building a future
where harmony, mutual respect, and inclusivity remain central to Malaysia’s dentity and progress.
