The first series of the Border Targeting Methods / Terrorists at the Border was co-organised virtually with Australian Government, Department of Home Affairs on 24 June 2021.
The webinar was attended by 28 participants from National Security Council, Malaysian Armed Forces, Royal Malaysia Police, Malaysian Institute of Defence and Security (MiDAS), Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency, Immigration Department, and Royal Malaysian Customs Department. The speaker of the webinar was an officer from Australian Border Force.
The objective of the webinar was to enhance awareness on the key principals of Border Targeting and Passenger assessment methodologies. In this webinar participants were exposed to the layered approach to border management, intelligence targeting, electronic profiling and informed operational judgements (with reference to the ABF CT Handbook). Participants were also given exposure to targeting constraints and intelligence sharing, as well as inter-agency cooperation in managing risk at the border.
