The Terrorism 101 course took place at the Amverton Heritage Resort in Melaka from 29 to 30 October 2024. This two-day program, organized by SEARCCT in partnership with the 21 Grup Gerak Khas, brought together a total of one hundred (100) officers and enlisted personnel from the Grup Gerak Khas (GGK), the 10th Parachute Brigade (10 PARA), and the 3rd Infantry Division (3 DIV).

This course featured a blend of presentations, interactive discussions, and practical exercises. The program aimed to enhance the capabilities of Malaysian law enforcement and intelligence personnel in areas such as intelligence gathering, threat assessment, and addressing CBRNe threats. The course equipped participants with insights into terrorism concepts and legal frameworks as well as enhancing understanding of terrorism-related issues and challenges in Malaysia. It also provided an opportunity for participants from various agencies to network and foster collaboration in the fight against terrorism and violent extremism in Malaysia.
The program began with an official opening ceremony, followed by sessions focusing on terrorism threats and the current situation in Malaysia.

Expert speakers from the Malaysian Defense Intelligence Organisation (MDIO) and the Special Branch (E8) of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) provided valuable insights. In the afternoon, the Strategic Digital Communications Division of SEARCCT delivered a session on the significance of Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (PCVE) in Malaysia. The second day featured discussions on the use of the internet by terrorist groups, led by SEARCCT’s Research and Publications Division. Participants also examined Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives (CBRNe) threats, in a session facilitated by the Armament Branch of PDRM.
The event concluded with a closing ceremony, featuring remarks from the Commanding Officer of Grup Gerak Khas, followed by certificate presentations and a group photo session.
