An Introduction to Battlefield Evidence For Criminal Justice Practitioners 13 – 15 July 2022

SEARCCT in collaboration with Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance & Training (OPDAT), United State Department of Justice Office has successfully concluded the ‘An Introduction to Battlefield Evidence for Criminal Justice Practitioners’ programme from 13 – 15 July 2022 which was held in DoubleTree by Hilton

The programme began with an opening speech by Mr. Roslan bin Sharif, Deputy Director General II of SEARCCT. Speakers were invited from the U.S. Department of Justice National Security Division Counterterrorism Section, Federal Bureau of Investigation dan Terrorist Explosive Device Center.

The main objective of the programme is to teach participants to evaluate and use evidence found in former ISIS territory to investigate, prosecute and adjudicate returning foreign terrorist fighters.

A total of 21 participants from National Security Council (NSC), SEARCCT, Malaysian Armed Forces, Royal Malaysia Police, Attorney General Chambers of Malaysia, Federal Court of Malaysia, Judicial and Legal Training Institute attended this programme. All the participants displayed great interest and participation throughout the programme. They provided positive feedback for the course evaluation. Moving forward, OPDAT is currently exploring possibilities to collaborate with SEARCCT to co-organize other relevant programmes in the near future.
