Southeast Asia Regional Centre for Counter-Terrorism (SEARCCT) in collaboration with Defence Special Operation Division (DSOD), Malaysian Armed Forces has successfully concluded the Terrorism 101 workshop on 4 July 2024 at Kem Sungai Besi, Kuala Lumpur. This workshop was attended by a total of fifty participants.
This programme was aimed at creating exposure and enhance the participants’ understanding of issues and challenges related to the threats of terrorism in Malaysia.
The speakers were established practitioners from Malaysia Institute of Defence and Security (MiDAS), E8 Special Branch (RMP) and SEARCCT.
Participants were exposed to many terrorism and counter-terrorism topics from legal frameworks, cases in Malaysia, and terrorists’ perspectives in information technology. The workshop highlighted significance of counter-terrorism efforts and awareness in public authorities.
The final session ended with Table Top Exercise (TTX) activity involving 4 groups. The closing ceremony was concluded by Ambassador Zamani bin Ismail, Deputy Director of SEARCCT, followed by the presentation of certificates.
