SEARCCT Lecture at the Royal Malaysian Police College, Kuala Lumpur

On 29 April 2025, Mr. Kennimrod Sariburaja, Director of the Research and Publications Division at the Southeast Asia Regional Centre for Counter-Terrorism (SEARCCT), delivered a lecture titled “AI: Emerging Trends in Terrorism” at the Royal Malaysian Police College in Kuala Lumpur.

The session aimed to enhance the awareness of law enforcement officers regarding the growing threats posed by Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the context of terrorism and violent extremism. During the lecture, Mr. Kennimrod highlighted how emerging AI technologies such as deepfakes, character AI, and coordinated misinformation campaigns are being increasingly exploited by malicious actors to influence, deceive, and radicalise targeted audiences.
