In May, SEARCCT was invited to panel on the ‘Wacana Kelestarian Keselamatan, Perpaduan dan Keharmonian’ which was held in conjunction with Sambutan Minggu Perpaduan 2024 Peringkat Kebangsaan. SEARCCT was represented by Mr. Kennimrod Sariburaja, Director of Research and Publications Division. The panel discussion also included representatives from the Special Branch (E8) of PDRM, and the National Security Council. Panellists shared on the roles of respective agencies in ensuring safety, unity, and harmony. SEARCCT shared its roles in countering terrorism, and preventing and countering violent extremism (PCVE) through soft approaches such as public awareness programmes, research, capacity-building, as well as digital strategic communications. Also shared during the forum was SEARCCT’s perspectives on emerging trends and evolving terrorism landscape, particularly in the digital space.
