The “Unmanned Aircraft Systems Operator The Training Of Trainers (ToT)” took place in Pullman, Kuala Lumpur for theoretical classes and at Futurise Cyberjaya for practical sessions from November 11 to 15, 2024. This workshop was jointly organized by the Southeast Asia Regional Centre for Counter-Terrorism (SEARCCT), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia and the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT), in partnership with the United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) with the sponsorship of Government of Qatar.
The workshop aimed to enhance understanding of operating Advanced nmanned Aircraft Systems and addressing the threats posed by drones, UAS, and other Aerial Remotely Operated Systems (AROS). Additionally, participants also practiced the training at Futurise Cyberjaya and delivered the Advanced UAS operator courses.
This ensured that participants were equipped with the necessary tools and
knowledge to effectively address counter terrorism challenges. Thus, this advanced operator training course served to enhance their skills in encountering these threats and working together across various agencies.
