Training Of Trainers (Tot) On Andragogy

SEARCCT organized a Training of Trainers (TOT) on Andragogy from 12 to 14 February 2020 at Hotel Impiana, Ipoh, Perak. The programme was attended by 16 of SEARCCT’s trainers from the CBRNE, Aviation Security and Terrorism Financing programmes. The trainer for this programme was Datin Nur Hafizah Ismail, an education consultant with nearly 30 years’ experience in Adult Teaching.

The programme focused on andragogy topics, namely, Principles of Adult Learning, Methodologies of Adult Learning, Learners Readiness Techniques, Powerful Delivery Techniques, and The Power of Praise and Maximizing Visual Aids for Teaching. Almost 70 per cent of the three-day programme were filled with group activities, presentations and discussions.

Based on the participants’ feedback, they were overwhelmed by the knowledge, techniques and tips imparted by Datin Nur Hafizah. Some participants have suggested that a follow-up session of this the training to be held in the future.

SEARCCT intended to organize a second session for different SEARCCT’s trainers. However, due to COVID-19 pandemic, the course was postponed. Nevertheless, SEARCCT looks forward to organising the programme in 2021 under a safer and feasible circumstance.
