Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) with Comedy: A Two-Day Comedy Writing Workshop

The Countering Violent Extremism with Comedy was held at the Intercontinental Hotel, Kuala Lumpur from 22 to 23 June 2019. This programme was co-organised by SEARCCT, Mythos Labs and Moonshot CVE. The objective of the programme was to allow aspiring writers and comedians to learn how to use comedic techniques to counter violent extremist messaging. The participants had the opportunity to have a dialogue session with Mr Harith Iskander, where he shared experience in developing comedy productions. At the end of the programme, two video proposals were accepted bt the co-organisers, and the winners (Danial Ahmad and Prakash Daniel) received funding to make their proposals into CVE comedy videos.
