Karachi, Pakistan: Terrorism can’t be ruled out in Karachi factory fire: Malik.
Federal Interior Minister, Rahman Malik has said that the element of terrorism in Baldia town factory fire cannot be ruled out. The terrorist wants to destabilise the country through Karachi.
Talking to media outside the factory on Sunday, Malik rejected the initial report submitted by the police. He said, “according to the report, the generator caught fire due to electric over charge and the boiler and the generator were also placed nearby.”
The minister said that the report regarding the generator tripping was wrong as that was working fine, adding that the fire did not start due to the boiler and the generator.
He said whosoever is found guilty in the factory inferno would not be spared and added that the investigation was being conducted on three points to dig out the real causes of fire.
Rahman Malik said that the factory owners would not be harassed but those found involved in this tragic incident would be brought to justice.
260 workers were burnt to death in the city when a fire which broke out in the factory situated in Baldia Town area of city.
Malik said that possibility of terror activity could not be ruled out but as both Karachi and Lahore incidents have similarities, however, investigations are being carried out. He added that they were also investigating that why the fire brigade reached the spot late.
